GIFT Nifty (Earlier SGX Nifty) signals a muted start

GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX traded higher by 8 points, or 0.02 per cent, at 24,286.50 signaling that Dalal Street was headed for muted start on Friday.

US stocks gain

U.S. stocks closed higher on Thursday, after the Federal Reserve announced a cut of 25 basis points (bps) in interest rates, extending a sharp rally sparked by Donald Trump's return as U.S. president.

Asian equities climbed Friday after stocks, bonds and commodities all rallied in the US as the Federal Reserve cut interest rates.

◦ Japan's Topix rose 0.6%
