CCI approves Bharti Airtel's stake increase in Indus Towers to 50.005%

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has granted approval for Bharti Airtel to increase its stake in Indus Towers Limited to 50.005%. This decision follows a share buyback by Indus Towers.

Earlier in June, citing sources that Airtel, which then owned 49% of Indus Towers, was in talks with Vodafone Plc to buy the remaining 3%. In the past, the group has hinted at consolidation of the Indus Towers by saying “if needed.”

Bharti Airtel, a player in the communications solutions sector, offers a range of services to its customers. Indus Towers specialises in the deployment, ownership, and management of passive telecom infrastructure, catering to various mobile operators across the country.
